MATT I’m excited to meet many terrifi c CA FFA members! I can’t wait to learn about what goes on at different chapters across the state and to see different perspectives on our association. Share your most memorable FFA experience. MATT My most memorable FFA experience was staring out in awe at over 7,000 blue jackets the fi rst time I attended the State FFA Leadership Conference. KYLER Livestock Judging has been a component of my life prior to my time in the FFA. Therefore, when my livestock judging team had the chance to compete at nationals it was the culmination of so many factors that resulted in the most fulfi lling moments in my life.  AALEXIAS I would have to say that my most memorable FFA experience would be the time I attended State Conference for the fi rst time as a freshman because by being there I felt so empowered, motivated, and felt as though I was a part of something way bigger than just myself. KYLE My most memorable FFA experience has been being able to attend the Washington Leadership Conference. DEVIN My most memorable FFA experience would have to be running for my fi rst offi ce and forgetting my speech because this is where I learned the importance of preparation. ORRIN By far my fi rst State Convention! Going and seeing just how many people are passionate about what agriculture education does was an eye opener. And I will never forget that Thompson Square concert! It was awesome just to go and have fun with a ton of other students and FFA members, and it really encouraged me to get more involved as well. What is your career goal? MATT I aim to serve in the U.S. Air Force as an offi cer and pilot. KYLER To work as  an  agriculture Lawyer,  and  maintain a fl ock of ewes for  a competitive show stock operation. AALEXIAS It is my utmost goal after graduating from college to become an agricultural educator so that I can help give back to an organization that has helped me learn and grow so much. KYLE I want to be a lobbyist fi ghting for agriculture in Sacramento and maybe even run for congress one day if the opportunity presents itself. DEVIN I hope to become an agricultural lobbyist for a Cattlemen’s Association upon graduating from Oklahoma State University. ORRIN After college, I would love to work as a mechanical engineer for any large agricultural company. It has always been a dream of mine to design and patent something of my own creation. I hope that being in an engineering career fi eld I could have the opportunity to create new tools for agriculturalists to use. KYLER I am extremely excited to go on Star tours and learn about other members’ projects.  My SAE project was  one of my favorite  experiences,  so I can’t wait to learn more about different sectors of agriculture  and the members who are involved in their SAEs.  AALEXIAS This year I am really looking forward to getting  to meet so many members of California FFA, so I am able to listen and learn their stories that make them so unique. I am also  super excited to be able to see all around California and witness what makes each of the chapters and areas so incredibly different. KYLE The aspects of my year of service that I am most excited for are the things that aren’t planned and the times I get to make relationships with the members of California FFA. The moments after the chapter visits, Chapter Offi cer Leadership Conferences, and Made For Excellence Leadership Conferences where I can sit down and make connections with people is what I am most excited about. DEVIN There’s nothing I love more than learning what people are passionate about. I’m so excited this year to have the opportunity to learn what our FFA members are passionate about and what makes their eyes light up. ORRIN I cannot wait to start teaching workshops at all of the COLCs and MFE conferences! It’s gonna be a wild ride full of laughs and fun times! { Continued on page 7 } California FFANEWS • PAGE 6 • Fall 2018
