Covering the 10” Styrofoam Cake Separator:
Step 3:
Attach the 10” Styrofoam
cake disk separator to the
dummy cake holder or
cake wheel with prongs
to prevent the Styrofoam
from moving while
covering with fondant.
Step 2:
Take a tape measure and
measure the disk from
one side to the other to
determine the diameter of
fondant you need to roll.
Soften the edges of the
Styrofoam disk by rubbing
the side of a non-stick
rolling pin back and forth
to prevent it from tearing
the fondant while it is
being covered. Spray the
disk with water all over to
help the fondant stick to
the Styrofoam.

Cover 2 Tomato cans,
one slightly smaller than
the other with parchment
paper and tape the ends
to secure.
Measure the
circumference of the cans
with a tape measure.
Press the Greek pattern
texture mat on a strip of
white gum paste taking
care that the pattern is
continuous. Make sure
that the strip is to the
measurement of the can’s
circumference previously
measured.
Trim the strip to the width
of the design using a
rotary cutter or a craft
knife.

Roll some purple fondant
to the diameter needed to
cover the Styrofoam and
cover the cake separator.
