Acts of Green collaboration Written by Kellie Rudland CAKE ARTISTS INSPIRING CHANGE IN THE WORLD On Earth Day, 21st April 2016, digital art gallery ‘Acts of Green’ was released to the world. A collaboration headed by the United Nations of Sugar Art, ‘Acts of Green’ aimed to bring awareness to issues facing our planet such as global warming, saving endangered species, and the degradation of our forests. Award-winning sugar and pastry artists donated their time, talent and materials to create edible showpieces in the hope of raising awareness, as well as donations for the National Geographic Society. “By supporting National Geographic Society, we are giving to an organisation that has made a tangible effort to not only help reverse the damage that has been done to the planet and its people through its Conservation Trust, but educate future generations of the importance of its preservation through its Young Explorers Programs and Expedition Grants,” said UNSA founder Zawadi Parizek.
