Jacqueline Butler interview with Beautiful Blooms – an interview with Jacqueline Butler of Petalsweet Written by Kellie Rudland Jacqueline Butler is known the world over for her delicate pastel blooms and tiny filler flowers. We chatted with Jacqueline about her move from cake artist to floral artist, and what’s next in the Petalsweet world. When we last interviewed you in 2014 your business focused on wedding cakes, but you’ve now shifted to solely creating sugar flowers. Was this a daunting transition to make? It was in the beginning! But I was getting a lot of requests from lovely folks wanting to learn how to make sugar flowers and I found I really enjoyed teaching. For a while I was doing cakes and teaching at the same time, but it just became too difficult to do them both and do them well, so I took the chance on teaching and I’m happy I did! Occasionally I will take on a custom sugar flower order for a special project, and these help me push myself to try new things. Do you ever miss creating cakes? I still create a few cakes here and there for family, friends and some wonderful long-standing clients, but I don’t miss making them full time. I would love to have more free time to
