Once Upon a Christmas It ’ s a world of magic and make-believe for both children and adults at Saskatoon ’ s branch of the Western Development Museum . Boomtown is transformed into a winter wonderland with vintage Eaton ’ s store window displays . The mechanical moving figures were originally built in the mid- 1940s by aircraft technicians and WWII veterans for the downtown Winnipeg store .
