secure your child
tightly enough.
test by buckling
in your kid with
their coat on;
tighten seat straps
as usual. then
unbuckle, remove
the coat and buckle
again—without
adjusting tightness.
if you can pinch the
straps above the
chest clip, the coat
suit is too bulky.
consider a fleece
snow suit that won’t
add extra bulk, or
a poncho specially
designed to fit over
car-seat straps.
