I enjoyed reading the
interesting articles in your
last issue. But the photo
with your article about
Remembrance Day (“To Do
List,” winter 2017) surprised
me. Having worked on
Voodoo aircraft at Bristol
Aerospace in Winnipeg,
I quickly realized the picture
labeled “Sabre jets” actually
features Voodoo jets. It
would have been great to see
both aircraft side-by-side—
they were totally different
in size and capability. I’ve
enclosed a photo (right)
of our Bristol test pilot
and crew, including myself

several letters from like-
minded air aficionados.
We did indeed mislabel the

Patriotic Pics
To celebrate Canada’s
150th last year, we asked
members to post photos of
themselves with Canadian
icons. CAA Manitoba’s
social media channels
were flooded with classic
photos, but the grand-prize
winner of our “Show Us
Your Canada 150” photo
contest was Susan Arran of
Brandon. Her winning entry
with the famed Bluenose
2 schooner (below) earned
her a Manitoba staycation,
including a one-night stay
at Canad Inns, tickets
to Celebrations Dinner
Theatre, Cineplex movie
passes and a Canadian-
themed carry-on bag.
Corrections: in “caa insider” (winter 2017) we misspelled the winner
of our rainbow stage Little Shop of Horrors contest. Jim craik won the
theatrical prize.
in the winter 2017 issue, our cover promised a story about futuristic
autos (“cars of the Future”), but we had to pull the article due to space
constraints. We’re happy to run the story this issue—please see page 29.

We decided to book
a trip through caa
with travel consultant
novella lander. she was
exceptional! novella
took care of everyone–
all 25 of us—and even
did a few extras for
us, which were greatly
appreciated. We’re
thinking of booking
a 28-day cruise, and
novella will definitely be
our travel consultant!
