The museum’s klondike History Library also attracts gold rush researchers from around the globe. niGHT AT THe SAloon PADDle PoWeR The Klondike Spirit is today’s only operating paddle- wheeler in the yukon. We board the grande dame of river cruisers and happily bob along the yukon river, learning about Dawson City and the klondike gold rush. As we meander down 40 Spring 2018 the murky water, we see evidence of how mighty this river can be: The shore is dotted with wrecks of old paddle steamers. Locals call it the “paddlewheel graveyard” to remind them of the strength of Mother Nature. CAA MAniTOBA We end our night in Dawson City by kicking up our heels at Diamond Tooth gerties gambling Hall. Old- time piano tunes provide the lively soundtrack, while flamboyant cancan girls take centre stage.
