irst of Its Kind Beauty Pageant For Plus Sized Wom-
en In India
This will be the first of its kind beauty contest to be held for cur-
vaceous unmarried and married women.
The organizers of this beauty pageant are Trishla Rane, Direc-
tor, 4th Dimension Media & Neha Chanchlani, Owner, Studio
Strands Salon, they both being plus size have gone through their
share of completing & competing their plus size journey to be-
come successful entrepreneurs today.
Speaking about the pageant, Trishla Rane said, “This pageant
will feature women who till now have not been given their due
in the fashion world.” She added, “It Is always felt that women
have to be lean or size zero to enter t he fashion and glamor in-
dustry. We are here to break those stereotypes and give plus size
women a platform full of opportunities to live their dreams “
Trishla went on to add, “Such pageants for the plus sized women
are quite in have been held in various North American,Europe-
an and African Countries. However India being ranked as 3rd in
the world in the count of overweight population, never had any
such pageant. Hence we thought of coming up with this contest
for the curvy women of India. Also the agenda of the contest is
to propagate healthy living and give the true meaning of fitness,

Neha Chanchlani the Co-Organizer of the Pageant said, “We had
been thinking about hosting such a pageant for a long time and
we looking to address a fashion segment which was hitherto ig-
nored in the country.” She further added, “Today we have fashion
brands coming up in the country who are specifically catering to
the fashion needs of plus sized women in the country.”
They also spoke to us about the initial response of the pageant
which was average and how this concept went viral in a month
and today they have associations from across the country &
abroad. Neha Said, The response has been phenomenal and we
have been getting registrations from different parts of the coun-
try.”
The auditions for the pageant will be held in various cities of Ma-
harashtra in the month of April, they plan to travel to Aurangab-
ad, Kolhapur, Nashik, Nagpur, & Mumbai to do the audtions and
identify the stunning curvy beauties to give them a walk way
towards stardom. The ladies will go through intensive grooming
& fitness sessions before the Grand Finale of the pageant which
going to be held in Seasons Mall on 7th MAy, 2017.
