Meet a Mentor for Women
The Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs
(IOEE) and the Government Equalities Office are
running a series of free Meet a Mentor events
designed specifically for business women seeking
mentor support and volunteer enterprise mentors
looking for a business to help. Attendees will find
a range of volunteer mentors who are willing to
commit time at the event helping business owners’
deal with the day to day and longer term challenges
of running a business.
Mentors will be able to put their skills and time to
good use in a relaxed setting with new and growing
businesses who need help and support.
The objectives of the event are to raise awareness
about the benefits of mentoring and for businesses to
meet the fantastic community of mentors interested in
supporting them.
The event includes many activities designed to help
mentors and businesses get to know each other, including
an introduction session to set the scene, a spot of speed
mentoring, and more chances to connect over lunch.
There are free places available both for those that
are keen to volunteer as mentors and those looking for
a mentor.

Lindsay & Gilmour Honoured for Excellence at
2015 Pharmacy Business Awards
A family owned Scottish pharmacy chain is making
waves in the UK capital with its runaway success at
the 2015 Pharmacy Business Awards. Held in London,
the event recognises the very best in pharmaceutical
excellence. With five nominations and two official
awards, Lindsay & Gilmour stole the show.
Philip Galt, Managing Director said, “We are thrilled
to have been recognised by such an esteemed event.
Nominations for the Pharmacy Business Awards are
something every community pharmacy strives for but to
actually win multiple awards is an absolute honour.”
As an independent business that’s grown from a single
shop to an award winning group with locations across
Central Scotland, Fife and the Scottish Borders, Lindsay
& Gilmour is the epitome of a Pharmacy Business Awards
nominee. Rather than simply stock a uniform range of
national standard products, each branch tailors its services
and merchandise to fit the unique needs of its community.
It’s this bespoke approach to pharmaceuticals that sets
the company apart from its competitors, and ultimately
won it the crown of 2015 Pharmacy Business Awards
‘Pharmacy Business of the Year.’
Originally established by Robert Lindsay in 1826,
Lindsay & Gilmour has been trading in the same Elm Row,
Edinburgh site for almost 200 years. This makes it one of
Scotland’s oldest pharmacies, enduring generation after
generation of change. Today, Lindsay & Gilmour operate
27 pharmacies across Scotland. Customers enjoy a
full range of modern pharmacy services issued by well
informed, friendly staff.
The company Chairman, Nigel Cumming
commented, “Lindsay & Gilmour has been excelling in
the community pharmacy sphere for almost two centuries
and the twin awards confirm that we’re definitely doing
something right!”
