SQA Scottish Vocational Qualifications — 25 Years and Counting Liz McGrath, Head of Qualifications Portfolio Management at SQA One of the most important developments in Scottish skills training — the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) — is 25 years old this year. Playing a leading role in its success over that time has been the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). The team at Scotland’s national accreditation and awarding body works in partnership with employers, colleges, schools, universities, industry and government departments throughout the UK and internationally, to provide flexible qualifications and assessments that are relevant to employers.
