Why? I hate shopping and I must be one of the few females that hasn’t inherited the shopping gene. I think part of the problem is finding things that suit you and your body shape, and what to buy for work. In this issue we take a look at some work wear essentials and speak with Kirsty Mac, founder and CEO of Leadership Styled. Kirsty knows what she likes and recently purchased items from a new brand called The Fold. She gives us her insight into her working wardrobe. By coincidence I had also just purchased a top from The Fold, and I didn’t have to leave my house and try on clothes in a badly lit changing room that doesn’t flatter anyone! A real eye opener is the recent report about the growing number of mumpreneuers facing poverty in retirement. The rapid rise of mumpreneurs has been one of the most eye-catching trends since the downturn. Many mumpreneurs have enjoyed the flexibility that often comes with being your own boss and want this to continue. Linda Gilbert from Munro Partnership gives her advice not only to mumpreneurs but for the self employed. Thank you to the ladies who came along to support the Live Event in Aberdeen in May. With over 200 women at the event there was a great ambiance to the whole day, which was filled with advice, inspiration and connections. Ladies of Aberdeenshire, we will see you again next year! We are looking forward to receiving your entries for our Business Awards taking place in Glasgow this October. We think it’s time to reward the extraordinary entrepreneurship of Scotland’s business women, so get involved! You can enter via our website awards. bwsltd.co.uk and it’s FREE to enter! As always we look forward to hearing from you with all of your stories of achieving success.
