Faye Barham,
Resident of the Month
Congratulations to Faye Barham on
being selected as the resident of the
month for March. Faye Robison Barham
was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Sparta, Mo.,
to Jim and Grace Robison. Faye had two
sisters, Eura and Eunice. Faye grew up in
Sparta, a small town south of Spring-
field, Mo. She attended Fairview ele-
mentary school and graduated from
Sparta High School in 1945. After gradu-
ation, she attended the Draughn’s Busi-
ness College in Springfield for one year.
Faye met D.L. Barham of Halfway,
Mo., on a blind date, and it was love at
first sight. The couple dated for a year
and a half and married Jan. 1, 1951. Af-
ter the wedding, they moved to Halfway,
where D.L. was a farmer.
Faye worked in the banking and fi-
nance industry for many years She start-
ed her banking career working in Spring-
field, Mo., at Old Citizen’s bank. She
would later work in the finance division
at General Motors. Faye then retired
from the Polk County Bank, in Bolivar,
in 1991.
Faye and D.L. were blessed with two
children, a son, Jack, and a daughter,
Mary. Jack and his wife, Peggy, live in
Halfway, Mo., and Mary and her hus-
band, Mike Walker, live in Kimberling
City. Faye has six grandchildren, includ-
ing two granddaughters who are nurses
at CMH. She is also blessed with 12
great-grand children, plus a new great-
grand baby on the way.
Faye and D.L. were married for
a wonderful 49, years when he
passed away in 1999.
Faye moved to Butterfield in
2017. She enjoys crafts, knitting,
sewing, reading and board games.
She also enjoys the music groups,
parties and socials. Faye is a mem-
ber of the Halfway Baptist Church.
She is also a member of the CMH
Auxiliary where she has volun-
teered at the hospital since 1999.
Faye enjoys spending time and vis-
iting with her many friends and
family.
