HOSPICES CHOSEN AS
CHAMBER CHARITIES
St Leonard’s Hospice in York and St Catherine’s
Hospice in Scarborough have been chosen as
Chamber charities by York & North Yorkshire
Chamber of Commerce.
The independent charities, chosen by Chamber
president Ed Everard, provide specialist
palliative care and support for local people with
life-limiting illnesses.
Between them, the Hospices provide a wide range
of services including day care, in-patient and
Hospice@home, across a huge area, and both rely
on voluntary donations to support their combined
running costs of over £10 million each year.
Ed Everard said:
“I’m delighted to support
both these charities during my
presidency. I hope Chamber
members and staff will get
behind these amazing causes.
