LEEDS CHAMBER DINNER President says devolution needs sorting! Leeds Chamber’s popular black-tie dinner took place in January at the Royal Armouries with a 300 strong business audience. Guest speaker John Sergeant impressed and entertained with his political stories while Chamber President, Gerald Jennings paid tribute to Leeds City Council for their response to the Leeds floods. Gerald also commented on some of the policy wins for the Chamber, including the decision for a single-station solution for HS2 and thanked the business community for their contribution to this and other Chamber initiatives. In his speech, he spoke out about the lack of progress by the government on devolution and warned the ‘clock is ticking’, adding that it was disappointing to see discussions had become overtly political in nature.
