eff Fisher first came to Grenada as a child in 1959. His passion for sailing led him to the profession of boatbuilding and design. Today he uses these skills to design pre-engineered hexagonal (6 sided) wooden houses that are customizable, expandable, and starts at only EC$100.00 per square foot for the basic house. A ‘Modular Design’ House, represents the best value, currently available in Grenada. THE CONCEPT A quickly erected finished structure with a minimum of labour and foundation preparation. The average build once on site is about 3 days. These wooden structures are made from prefabricated finished wood floor, wall and roof components that when assembled produce the basic house. “They practically build themselves” Fisher tells us and the advantage of the 6 six-sided

structure lends itself well to adding on other identical units to increase interior space, it also simplifies construction. The interior floor space is 420 square feet (39 sq. m) and affords comfortable living at this size for two persons. This is an excellent investment for a landowner as a first home, Eco Resort possiblities, or a second home in a more
remote location, where services could be limited and preventive to building because of lack of infrastructure. Even though it takes less than a week to erect one of these homes, it does take some time to build the components. Once you’ve decided on the type of home that fits your needs, floor, wall and roof sections are pre-built in jigs at Jeff’s workshop in Springs. Included are pre-installed doors and windows, with placement of your choice.
