Many good things have happened this summer and its not just been the heatwave. Some of you may know the history of Business Women Scotland but for those that are reading this and new to BWS - WELCOME ! BWS was established during the first financial crisis. There was need for women in business to have a platform, to have a voice, to be heard and and to showcase women at any stages in their careers. It’s been an unstoppable (and frankly, emotional) roller coaster but all worth it, especially to see how far women in business in 2018 have come on. In June I was delighted and surprised to be awarded an M.B.E in the Queen’s birthday honours list for services to the promotion of women in business. I couldn’t be more proud to have this award as there are so many women in business doing amazing things and BWS is a great vehicle to be able to promote them. This new-look August issue of Business Women Scotland is dedicated to all the women in business that are revolutionaries and who think differently and have supported BWS. We’ve made a bolder, braver magazine to celebrate them and give these important, varied new voices a place to talk about who they are and what they stand for. I am incredibly proud of what the Business Women Scotland team has created and curated on the pages that follow. Please keep sending your stories in as we love to hear from you. You can also keep up to date with BWS via our events, awards and membership on our BWS website or you can contact us via social media. Our closed FB page for BWS is also a great way to promote your business. So now it’s over to you, BWS readers. What do you think of our new look? What do you like and what is missing? Let us know and we’ll see what we can deliver in our forthcoming BWS issues.  Looking forward to hearing from you Yours, Lynne Kennedy 2 e: [email protected]
