CONQUER THE COAST

he morning of September 6th, officials announced that Conquer the
Coast, South Texas’ premiere cycling event, will return for its 14th year
on Saturday, September 16th despite the damage caused by Hurricane
Harvey.
Although the 10 and 21-mile routes remain the same, the 66-mile option
will change. “Due to the amount of damage and uncertainty many com-
munities along the 66-mile route still face, local officials along with our
production team have come up with a plan that will still allow riders to ex-
perience the Coastal Bend while relief efforts continue,” said Yvette Lara,
Executive Director of the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce
Foundation.
