DISASTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS Y our United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce President/ CEO, Cleo Rodriguez, Jr., along with Dr. Gilda Ramirez, Chamber VP of Small Busi- ness and Education, recently met with SBA, LiftFund, and the SBA Disaster Relief Division. Throughout the meeting, many opportunities available to our Business Members, homeowners, renters, and non-profits impacted by Hurri- cane Harvey were brought to light. Including Loans for Businesses as well as Economic Injury Loans. Click here to view the document outlining the specif- ics of these disaster assistance programs. In the very near future, FEMA and the US SBA Disaster Assistance will be set- ting up Business Recovery Centers in our area to assist with the application process. The recommendation of the SBA is: • Register NOW with FEMA (https://www.fema.gov/apply-assistance). • It does not cost any money- other than your time. • There is no obligation to accept any assistance if in the end you locate other resources. The deadline to apply for assistance is already set as October 24, 2017. UNITEDCORPUSCHRISTICHAMBER.COM 28
