SMALL BUSINESS FUELS BIG DREAMS T he mission of the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation is to develop leaders and entrepreneurs to make a positive impact in Corpus Christi. Lemonade Day per- fectly aligns with that mission; and targets a younger crowd than the typical programs of the Chamber. The 5th annual Lemonade Day Coastal Bend, presented by Kleberg Bank, is set to take place on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Lemonade Day teaches youth to start, own, and operate their very own business through the real-world experience of running a lemonade stand. The program is designed to teach kids, ages 5-18 years, about entrepreneurship, financial literacy and the importance of giving back. In preparation for Lemonade Day, 30+ registered participants attended the Best Tasting Lem- onade Finals on Tuesday evening at La Palmera Mall! The delicious lemonade, creative stands, and enthusiastic entrepreneurs made one thing evident.. the Coastal Bend is in for a real treat come May 13!! CONGRATS TO THE TOP FINALISTS: (pictured above from left to right) 3rd Place, Reese's Famous Lemonade; 2nd Place, Gabby's Lemonade Express; 1st Place, Girl Scout Troop #96026.
