ABOUT THE CO-OP
NEC Co-op Energy is a non-profit electricity provider.
Co-ops were formed decades ago to offer service to
residents in rural areas—and there’s an inspiring back
story to how it all got started. Today, there are over 1,000
cooperatives formed across the nation. And members
are not turning back.
WHAT THIS CAN MEAN FOR YOU
When you enroll as a customer, you become a “member,”
which also means you are part owner. That’s right. We
all have a hand in it. It’s different than the big guys—the
investor-owned utilities or power suppliers—because all
our profits go right back to the members (you). Every
year, members receive a portion of the profits “capital
credits”, in the form of bill credits or cash payment.
It’s simply neighbors working with neighbors to provide
reliable electricity at the lowest price possible. No gim-
micks. Just great service–with the kind of benefits that
matter to our members.
