The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation hosted Mi Casa Es Su
Casa honoring Darcy Schroeder , Public Affairs Manager for Valero Energy Corporation , on the evening of Wednesday , January 31 at the home of Sharon and Jim Sedwick .
Well over 75 guests joined us in honoring Ms . Schroeder at this unique , women-driven mixer . All in attendance enjoyed valet parking , refreshing beverages , and delicious cuisine catered by Shoreline Sandwich Company . An outstanding team of the finest celebrity waiters Corpus Christi has to offer ensured guests were well taken care of throughout the evening .
Proceeds of Mi Casa Es Su Casa benefit the Mano a Mano Scholarship Program . The Mano a Mano Scholarship Program was initiated in 2007 to encourage students to continue their education in the Coastal Bend and promote the growth of a local educated workforce . Since its inception , the over $ 300,000 in scholarships have been awarded to local students . This one-year scholarship is available to high school graduates , as well as students currently enrolled in or accepted to Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi , Del Mar College , or Texas A & M University-Kingsville . The 2018-2019 scholarship application is now available online and the deadline to apply is March 31 , 2018 .
