Business Matters June 2017 | Page 3

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE United Corpus Christi Chamber Members and Supporters, As your Interim President and CEO, I want to tell you we have had a great UCCCC month! Thanks to all who supported Lemonade Day. It was wonderful to see our young entrepreneurs enacting their “business plans” as well as giving back to various local charities. Last week, we graduated our 45th Leadership Corpus Christi Class. A significant accom- plishment, not only for the graduates, but possible only with the excellent work of a dedicated steering committee, LCC Alumni Association, and United Chamber Foundation. Our first ever Total Resource Campaign achieved amazing success, thanks to an incredible support team and con- tributors who helped ensure high quality United Chamber events will con- tinue throughout the year. Last Sunday, we were able to celebrate the Passage of Texas Senate Bill 277, which will help protect our area military bases into the future. And finally, we welcomed many of our newest Unit- ed Chamber members with several wonderful ribbon cutting ceremonies. Take a look in this issue to see our newest members and provide them a warm Corpus Christi welcome! Today, we are 1040 members strong! Looking forward to a great June! Respectfully, KRESTEN COOK Interim President & CEO
