honoring Gaye White June 14, 2017 • Photography by Debbie Noble T he United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation hosted its Mi Casa Es Su Casa women’s only mixer on June 14, 2017 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John LaRue. The event hon- ored the District Director for Chairman Todd Hunter, Ms. Gaye White. Over 100 ladies joined in honoring Ms. White. The event includ- ed delicious Asian cuisine catered by the Ortiz Center along with refreshments and specialty drinks. Guests were waited on by an array of local male "celebrity" wait- ers. The waiters went above and beyond to ensure that the women were well taken care of during the event. The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation presented the event with enormous support received from the following sponsors: Presenting Sponsor: Representative Todd Hunter. Proceeds of the event go towards the Mano A Mano Scholarship Program. The Mano-A-Mano Scholarship program was initiated in 2007 to encourage students to continue their education in the Coastal Bend while promoting the growth of a local educat- ed workforce. Since its inception, the Mano-A-Mano Scholarship 10 in has awarded over 300 local students with over $300,000 scholarships.
