PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
T
here are three things I know to be true about change. It is
going to come, it’s not always easy and it always presents
opportunities. As most of you have heard, I have accepted an
offer with a Chamber in Virginia and April 28 will be my last day
at the United Corpus Christi Chamber. So, this is my last mes-
sage to you in my current role.
During my season here the Chamber has catapulted into a brand new era with
gusto! We have spent these 15 months transitioning two long standing and re-
spected organizations into one, whose mission is to represent all business, and to
be a reflection of the community we serve. I have an outstanding group of people
that I work with everyday. They are smart professionals and they will carry on this
work efficiently and loyally during the change ahead. We have leadership that is
positioned to embrace the task of selecting the right person for this position with
dedication to the mission and program of work the Chamber has established and
to seeing that work succeed.
It has been an honor and a privilege serving this beautiful community. I don’t have
to tell you what an amazing place Corpus Christi is and what a wonderful array of
assets create this vibrant local economy. I will cherish and miss the relationships I
have established here. I am very proud of what we have accomplished in the last
15 months and I will greatly miss my work here with all of you. However…….there is
very, very important work to be done today!!
We are currently at the halfway point in our total resource campaign. I cannot
express how vital this is to the growth and sustainability of your Chamber. In the
early months of my time here I repeatedly heard from the community that having a
once a year sponsorship time would be a great benefit to businesses who invest
in Chamber opportunities. That’s what this is and the amount of value in this book
of business is remarkable. There is literally something for every business in our
membership. We have new and exciting ways for you to get the word out about
your business and ways to attract new business to you. We have 4 more weeks to
go in this campaign and it is absolutely the MOST important thing in the life of our
Chamber right now. Please give consideration to your own packages and seek out
one of our campaign volunteers to help you secure what will most help your busi-
ness! Help your Chamber cross the finish line and achieve the goal established for
this campaign and watch us soar together into the next chapter of work on behalf
of the businesses of Corpus Christi!
