MOTORING Renault’s Game-Changer T wenty years after inventing the world’s first compact MPV with the Scénic, Renault has reaffirmed the model’s game­changing status with the unprecedented design of the All­New Scénic and All New Grand Scénic. Continuing the design revolution that has been taking place at Renault. Through recent model introductions such as the all new Mégane, Kadjar, the fourth­generation Scénic debuts a bold new style. In the MPV segment, while also enhancing the outstanding modularity that has been paramount to the model’s previous three generations. Wider than the outgoing Scénic yet also boasting a shorter rear overhang, the All­New Scénic has a fluid and elegant silhouette. Sculptured sides and a distinctive belt line towards the rear contribute to its ground­ breaking style, but it is the standard fitment of 20­inch wheels across the range that is perhaps the key factor in the seductive appeal of the new Scénic. It certainly adds to the Grand Scénic’s impressive road presence. I drove the Grand Scénic which is a big vehicle, it has sleek, sporty look and with seven seats available inside it certainly is a practical vehicle as well. The 1600cc diesel engine drives the front wheels through a six­ speed gearbox. I was surprised how well this all works together on a vehicle as big as the Grand Scénic.
