New Chiller in Church
The new 70-Ton Chiller in church was installed last week . We also had the air-handler coils cleaned and the thermostats calibrated . The air-conditioning rooms in church were cleaned out by an extremely hard-working , generous and committed member of our parish . Evidently , this was the first time this has been done since the church was constructed almost forty years ago ! We are currently in the process of checking the water valves for the airhandlers and we plan to install a time-control system and replace some of the thermostats that are not working correctly . The overall cost was seventy-seven thousand dollars ($ 77,000 ). We wish to express our heartfelt thanks , making it possible for us to address this significant concern .

Music Ministry Announcement
We wish to inform you that Louis Dupuy will be stepping down as our Director of Music on April 30 th . We are truly indebted to Louis for his musical leadership over these past thirty-seven years , since 1980 . An integral part of our community whose musical talent is woven into the fabric of this parish , he leaves here with our prayers and best wishes for his future . A farewell reception for Louis is being planned for Sunday , April 30 th following the 11:00 a . m . Mass in the Multi-purpose Room in the Parishioners ’ Center . A new Director of Music & Choirs will be in place by May 1 st .
Crystal Vaccaro to present a Concert at St . Philip Neri This Sunday , January 29 th , at 2:00 p . m .
Our own Crystal Guidry Vaccaro studied music at Loyola University New Orleans after graduating from Archbishop Chapelle High School where she was a member of their Chorale . Most recently Crystal has been a member for the St . Philip Neri Adult Choir for 8 years and a parish cantor for 6 years . She has been a featured performer at many concerts and special events in the Gulf Coast Region . Crystal grew up attending mass at St . Philip Neri Church and is blest to now bring her children , Hunter and Veronica , to the same church with her husband , John . She is also honored and excited to have her debut solo concert in her home parish . Crystal will be accompanied by Marilyn Monie and the concert will feature the St . Philip Neri Adult Choir and Chris Raggio .

Our Catholic school offers academic excellence and faith-filled education for our students . National test scores , high school graduation rates , college attendance and other data show that our Catholic school outperforms schools in both the public and private sectors . Here at St . Philip Neri , we are especially proud of our parish school . Our current enrollment is 720 students which includes 588 students in our 3-year old to 7 th Grade Program and 132 infants in our Early Learning Program . Altogether there are 91 persons who are employed full-time at our school and Early Learning Center . This includes faculty , administrative staff and support staff in both the Early Learning Center and school . We extend our sincere gratitude to parents who entrust us with the education and formation of their children which we take seriously . While we are proud of our academic accomplishments , our Catholic School exists to instill the Catholic Faith in our students .
