THE PROPHETS : Messengers of God ’ s Mercy Beginning in January , A Ten-Session Series on the Prophets .
Groups meet weekly for 10 weeks , beginning this week of January 15 th and ending the week of March 26 th .
We will skip the week of February 26 th , the week of Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday .
Martin Luther King Day
We are called on this holiday , not merely to honor , but to celebrate the values of equality , tolerance and interracial sister and brotherhood he expressed in his dream for America . Martin Luther King , Jr . Day is not only for celebration and remembrance , education and tribute , but above all a day of service . It is a day of volunteering to feed the hungry , rehabilitate housing , tutoring those who can ' t read , consoling the brokenhearted and a thousand other projects for building the beloved community of his dream .

Also , We ’ re Going on Retreat ! From January 20-21 , SPY will be going on a retreat in Fountainebleau State Park . We ’ ll be joining the St . Christopher CYO to be led in prayer , games and fellowship by Dumb Ox Ministries .
Meeting for Parents of Children Preparing for First Eucharist
This will be on Monday , January 23rd at 6:00 p . m . in Meeting Room 1 @ 2 in the Parishioners ’ Center .
SPN Child Church
Children , ages 3-6 , can be dropped off at Meeting Room 1 in the Parishioners ’ Center before the 9:30 a . m . Mass and picked up following the 9:30 a . m . Mass .

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity January 18-25 , 2017
The theme of this year ' s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is " Reconciliation -The Love of Christ Compels Us ." ( cf . 2 Cor 5:14-20 ). The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has a history of over 100 years . . . , in which Christians around the world have taken part in an octave of prayer for visible Christian unity . By annually observing the WPCU , Christians move toward the fulfillment of Jesus ' prayer at the Last Supper " that they all may be one ." ( cf . John 17:21 )
