The new agreement, termed ‘Partners in Performance’, is a signifi cant opportunity to combine the strengths of two companies to bring new custom linings solutions to the rail industry. APC global transportation sales manager Jim DeChant says that as part of the agreement, APC will use its well-known and proven ChemLINE coatings technology to formulate and produce speciality rail linings that will be privately-labelled to Strathmore, and sold within the Strathmore range of coatings. According to Mike Wood, Strathmore’s director of rail sales and southeast industrial sales: “Strathmore already has a well-defi ned coatings product range for tank and hopper car applications under the respected Stratholiner interior linings brand. Now with APC’s technologies, we will be adding new linings to our product offering, that deliver an ultra-high level of performance against corrosion, and be able to handle a wide range of chemicals Elafl ex’s ‘Camlock’ product range to EN 14420-7 now includes all sizes and types made of brass for petroleum based products including sulphuric acid, acetic acid, 37 percent hydrochloric acid, methylene chloride, 50 percent sodium hydroxide and others.” Strathmore will be immediately introducing three new protective linings as part of the agreement. These are: Stratholiner 7840, a lining with superior chemical resistance and high temperature resistance; Stratholiner 7900, a high solids protective lining for application with plural component equipment that can be applied in one or two coats; and Stratholiner 8050, an anti-static lining that provides conductive/static dissipating benefi ts. Wood added: “This new relationship with APC expands our opportunities in the rail market by giving us new, state-of-the art lining solutions for our customers. We offer a full-service, turn-key approach for every coatings segment of the rail industry. APC will support our efforts by providing technical expertise, cargo testing, and laboratory approvals for various chemicals that our clients want to carry in these new Stratholiner coating systems, so this is win-win situation for everyone involved.” www.adv-polymer.com www.strathmoreproducts.com The LG 2ins lightweight gravity discharge road tanker hose DDC-M 65 with space-saving handles ůĂŇĞdžƵŶǀĞŝůƐ ŝŶŶŽǀĂƟŽŶƐ A t this year’s PetroTrans show in Kassel, Germany, Elafl ex presented products for road tankers. They included the lightweight gravity discharge road tanker hoses ‘LG’ now also available in size 2ins for application as a lightweight and very fl exible vapour recovery (vapour balance) hose. Also on display was the ‘Camlock’ product range to EN 14420-7 from Elafl ex’s own production that now also include all sizes and types made of brass for petroleum based products. Additionally available are Easyloc female couplers with automatic lever lock made of stainless steel in sizes DN 19-50. ‘DDC’ Dry Disconnect Couplings in DN 65 can also be supplied with space-saving handles, hence suitable for tank trailer hose connections. In European countries, composite hoses are being used more and more with electronic crossover prevention systems (COP). For the fi rm’s range of ‘FWS’ composite hoses Elafl ex provides the ‘COPSAFE system’ which guarantees functional and electrostatic safety for this application. Also at the booth two development studies were displayed. First, a nozzle quick-change system involving a compact dry disconnect coupling, that enables a fast switch between automatic nozzles (eg, ZVA 25 ) and bulk delivery nozzles (ZV 400/500, ZH 50). Second, the prototype of a modern, ergonomical and lightweight bulk delivery nozzle for heating oil. www.elafl ex.de ^ĐƵůůLJƌĞůĞĂƐĞƐ ĐŽƌƉŽƌĂƚĞǀŝĚĞŽ (1*,1((5,1* $7,76%(67. If a customer comes to us with a bespoke requirement, our design capabilities mean we can produce one off prototypes that are tailored to their precise specifications. If a customer comes to us and suggests a change to one of our products, we’re always ready to listen. The new Fort Vale Superseat Footvalve is an example of developing an existing product, specifically from customer feedback, for advancing corrosion resistance within hazardous cargo transportation. Whether making standard equipment or specialist valves – originality, improvement, and innovation are our focus. cully Signal Company has released a new corporate profi le video which highlights the company’s capabilities. It includes interviews with the CEO, Eric Kirleis, and other members of management, as well as an explanation of the entire engineering, manufacturing, and test processes told by the employees working in those departments. “Most people in the industry know that we were the originators of innovative oil delivery, static ground verifi cation and overfi ll prevention systems,” said Katrina Scully Ohl, executive VP. “What many do not realise is that we engineer, manufacture, test, and service our products in one integrated facility. There are not many companies that still retain all these processes under one roof. This video offers a glimpse of our extensive capabilities and our dedicated team of professionals.” The fi lm includes an overview of Scully’s 82-year history, an explanation of the patented Dynacheck self-checking circuitry, and extensive footage of the manufacturing and test process at the Wilmington, MA, USA factory. www.scully.com FORT VALE.
