Green light for Certas Liverpool HGV site

Planning permission has been granted for a new 24 hour

HGV refuelling facility at Port of Liverpool , UK , thanks to a partnership between Certas Energy and Peel Ports Group . Port of Liverpool is one of the largest and most diverse ports in Britain . Its current traffic and anticipated growth through investment make it a good location for the new refuelling site , Certas says . Ground works and construction will begin imminently to develop a state-of-the-art facility for up to eight HGVs at the same time . High speed pumps will be combined with advanced data collection , fuel monitoring equipment and filtration systems . Located at the main entrance to the Royal Seaforth Container Terminal and adjacent to the new Liverpool2 deep-water container terminal , which is part of Peel Ports ’ £ 750 million investment programme across the North West , the bunker site will add convenience for current port users as there will be no need for
drivers to divert off route to refuel ; they can refuel on entering or leaving the port , saving time as they proceed to their onward destination . Paul Williams , director , Certas Energy , commented : “ This is an exciting opportunity for Certas Energy and we are really pleased to be working with Peel Ports on this development . Our long-term lease not only demonstrates our continued investment to expanding our national refuelling network , but also highlights our commitment to supporting the continued economic development of the city of Liverpool . We look forward to the HGV refuelling site opening in early 2017 ”. David Huck , Peel Ports port director , added : “ This new facility will add value to our customers and provide a convenient and costeffective location for HGV drivers to refuel their vehicles . Planning permission is a key milestone and we look forward to working with Certas Energy to provide a convenient new service to our port users .”
