uretank has recently completed a refurbishment
project for Danish company Pieter Mouritsen,
specialists in rental equipment for the offshore market.
The aim of the project was to restore bespoke units to a high
standard in order to extend the lifetime of the equipment
allowing the customer to benefit from substantial cost savings.
Suretank’s engineering team performed a detailed analysis of
the condition of each unit, ahead of advising the customer on
the most suitable approach for the refurbishment of the 1,100L
vessels.
Suretank can help oil & gas operators access large cost
savings by extending the lifetime of existing equipment
through applying the same standards that are applied during
manufacture of new offshore containers and offshore tanks.

pool of resources means anything is possible , including engine
remanufacture if needed at Prior Diesel.
The increase in demand for refurbishment, recommissioning
and recertification of existing equipment is growing due to the
focus on reducing operating costs without neglecting health
and safety in offshore operations.
Darren Nutter, sales manager at Suretank, said: “We are
seeing an increased demand for this service. Great savings can
be achieved and in most cases the final product is
indistinguishable from a newly manufactured unit. As a
refurbished unit has a similar lifetime as a new unit it makes
sense for customers to invest in existing equipment.”
Suretank’s refurbishment service is not limited to original
Suretank equipment so any oil & gas supplier can take
advantage of the service.

amburg-based Liquid CONcept is expanding its portfolio to
include comprehensive transport services. This is Liquid CONcept’s
response to high demand for complex system solutions provided by a
single source, the firm said. The focus in this sector is on catering to
the customers’ specific requirements.
Liquid CONcept is being contracted by a major European distributor of
specialty chemicals. The complex job covers the entire supply chain, from
bottling the liquid synthetic intermediate product Terathane 2000 to its
shipment in intermediate bulk containers (IBC). Terathane 2000 serves as a
precursor in the production of polyurethanes, polyesters, and polymers that
are ultimately used in textiles, plastic parts, and adhesives.
To meet the customer’s stringent requirements and to safeguard production
processes, the chemical is transferred from tank containers to PE IBCs. At the
customer’s specific request, the chemical is then shipped from the Netherlands
to southern Germany exclusively in disposable IBC units. As Terathane 2000
requires a minimum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius to be processed, these
small containers are transported in climate-controlled trucks at all times. In
addition to managing and processing the shipments, Liquid CONcept’s range
of services includes weighing and labelling the IBCs.
