Plastic pallet with built-in scales

Overloading pallets could become a thing of the past thanks to

Goplasticpallets . com ’ s new APB 1210 heavy duty plastic scale pallet , launched recently . The new pallet has scales built into the top deck , which operate a digital display on both sides of the pallet blocks so users can determine the exact weight their pallet is carrying with no risk of overloading it . If too much weight is loaded onto the pallet , it will trigger an alarm and a red warning light will appear so that the user can adjust the load . Tested and certified to the latest health and safety standards , the APB 1210 plastic scale pallet measures 1,200mm ( L ) x 1,000mm ( W ) x 1,60mm ( H ) and weighs 28kg . It is capable of holding a static load of 6,000kg , a dynamic load of 3,000kg and up to 1,500kg in racking . Available as standard in blue , the APB 1210 plastic scale pallet comes with a number of options for orders over 500 units . These include a choice of seven different colours , screen printing with customer company logo and RFID inserts . Ben Messingham , UK sales manager , said : “ Although plastic pallets have stated loading capacities , making them much safer to use than wooden ones , our new plastic scale pallet offers users that extra bit of reassurance that they ’ re using the pallet within its load limits .” www . goplasticpallets . com www . goplasticboxes . com

Blackmer ’ s full range at ILTA OPW

Engineered Systems used this year ’ s ILTA trade show to announce a new complete terminal equipment range and its next-generation API coupler technology . The new range features a comprehensive line of loading arms , API couplers , electronic rack equipment , safety breakaways , railroad and tank car unloading fittings , and accessories . “ Having all of this as one complete terminal package streamlines the whole specifying and ordering process for customers ,” said Dave Morrow , director of products for OPW Engineered Systems . At booth 733 at the show , OPW also announced its next-generation API coupler , Lynx , as part of its new terminal package . Every component in the Lynx has been completely redesigned and optimised to deliver the best performance . “ Lynx will become one of our flagship products ,” added Morrow . “ Liquip and OPW engineers have really outdone themselves . This is the only coupler that can be disassembled in less than 30 seconds ; handle surge pressures up to 500psi ; and comes with five year warranty .” Also on the booth , sister company Blackmer featured its S Series screw pumps . Available with or without external timing gears and bearings , Blackmer S Series pumps are self-priming double-ended positive displacement pumps that offer outstanding performance in the most demanding liquid-storage terminal applications . Blackmer ’ s twin and triple screw designs provide complete axial balancing of the rotating screws and their timing technologies eliminate metal-to-metal contact with the pump . S Series pumps are also ATEX-certified for use in explosive or dangerous environments . The pump specialist will also showcase its ML Series Sliding Vane Pumps , which it says are ideal for liquid terminal operations that require high capacity product transfer , top or bottom loading / unloading and blending at the rack . ML Series pumps offer self-priming and high suction capabilities that enable them to clear tanks of product more effectively and efficiently . ML pumps can handle fluid viscosities from 30-500,000 ssu ( 1-108,000 cS ) with flow rates up to 600 gpm ( 136 cbm / h ) and at operating temperatures as high as 400degF ( 206degC ). STX Series sliding vane pumps will also be on display at booth 733 . STX
Series transport pumps are said to be ideal for loading and unloading corrosive and non-corrosive liquids – sulfonic acids , specialty chemicals , solvents , latex paints , liquid sugars and vegetable oils – which are not compatible for use with cast iron pumps . In addition , Blackmer HD Series reciprocating gas compressors were featured at the show . HD Series compressors provide quiet , efficient transfer of a wide range of liquefied gases . HD Series compressors also have been designed to handle the vapour recovery of gases that are common in terminal applications . The vapour recovery aspect of this application captures vapours before they are released in the environment , allowing terminals to be more environmentally responsible and compliant . www . opw-es . com www . blackmer . com
