APPROXIMATELY HALF of the 200+ attendees arrived by means other than a car Partnered with Winter Haven for a Grand Opening Event for a Pedestrian Bridge allowing access for walkers and bikers to safety traverse a busy highway. The event featured a “pre-event” run, walk, bike and bus ride to feature the different modes of transportation available along the City’s Multimodal Corridor. Again promoted the Heart of Florida Section of the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association’s mini-grant to eligible applicants wanting to build a community garden. The Heart of Florida Section provided technical assistance and up to $1,000 in seed money. Presented best practices for health in the build environment at the Paths to a Healthier Pinellas Summit, the Annual Planners Conference as well as the 2nd Annual Emerald Coast Transportation Symposium. 15
