Then came O’Brien and Sons. I applied for a job as a
sales consultant as I really wanted to get back to the
Boston area after my time at Wentworth. I was hired
and have been here thirteen years and have never
looked back. I love the idea of designing playscapes for
children and assisting other landscape architects and
their clients with their visions. It is fun and rewarding
to see the finished design and eventually to see
children playing on the playstructures, water parks,
site furnishings, and shade shelters that we help create.
First and foremost, I always say that the designs
we produce are only as good as the design of the
landscape architects. Through the years, I have been
very fortunate to work with quality firms who care
about what they do. Also throughout my career, I have
been lucky to have some great mentors from whom I
have had the pleasure to continue to learn. Landscape
Architecture can be a broad career and sometimes, if
you look outside the box a bit, you may find something
a bit different, but still related to, the profession.
