Concord House
Concord, Massachusetts
Concord House is a new 3,000 square foot
residence, which replaces 1950’s cottage
on a rural site in Concord, Massachusetts.
Designed for an architect and his artisthorticulturalist wife, the site design takes
its cues from existing landforms and an
established woodland composition. The
landscape plan gracefully integrates an
esker, a narrow winding ridge of stratified
sand deposited by glacial streams, that
exists on site. In addition to narrating the
landscape’s compelling glacial geology,
the designer aimed to integrate the house
seamlessly into the site, with living spaces
extending from inside to the outdoors.
