second , we can choose to build a world of good upon what we have now , with effects infinite . …. We have the fire of knowledge in our hands and in our minds . It has been tended by our ancestors for centuries , stoked by our professors , and brought to full burn by our own passion and drive . What will we do with that fire ? Will we let it smolder , unused , waiting for the right moment to emerge ? Will we be burned as it bursts forth unchecked ? Or will we tend it , feed it , and let it grow ? I challenge you to use your knowledge to fuel the progress of the world . Today , it is our mandate to build our fire — to celebrate our achievement , our success , our hard work , our determination , our resolve , and our ability , so that we may go out tomorrow as humans and strive to make a better world . The torch has passed from our ancestors to us now , today . May we make it count for all to come .
