running header FACULTY SPOTLIGHT KIRI ROGERS REACH UP, NOT DOWN Six Years as Dean of Students K At a surprise recognition ceremony this spring, Student Government President Jar-El Volcy recognized Kiri Rogers for her many contributions as dean of students. By Angella Irwin iri Rogers was presented with an award this spring with the following inscription: “In recognition of service to Bryn Athyn College: Thank you for your tireless efforts to support a healthy and thriving student body.” As she steps out of the role of dean of students and into the role of full-time faculty member, many students and colleagues have been expressing their gratitude for her past six years of hard work in a job that requires not only long hours, but consistent and sincere personal attention to some of the most rewarding and difficult situations that arise at the College. As dean of students, Kiri has overseen a plethora of offices and groups on campus. Through the years, it was under her umbrella that almost every non-academic aspect of the College fell, including student activities, orientation, the chaplaincy and spiritual life programming, athletics, student government, residence life, health and counseling, the multicultural and international student organizations, the office of disability resources, the behavior intervention team, and auxiliary services.
