Off -Leash Dog Parks & Beach
Dog permit registration is available online!
The park district provides three locations where dogs are
permitted off-leash:
• Debbie Gottlieb Beitler Dog Park – open year round
Larry Fink Memorial Park, 701 Deer Creek Parkway
• Moraine Beach – open Apr-Nov*
2501 Sheridan Road, at Moraine Ave.
• Highland Park Golf Learning Center – open Dec-Mar*
2205 Skokie Valley Hwy, north of Park Ave.
*Opening and closing dates are weather dependent.
Dog Park Amenities
• A wash station (Moraine and Debbie Gottlieb Beitler Parks).
• Prime time park attendant visits.
• Pickup bag dispensers and trash receptacles.
The exercise area hours are dawn to dusk, seven days a week.
The park will close periodically for cleaning and maintenance.
Fees
• Resident: $40 first dog ($20 each additional dog).
Must provide 2015-16 City of Highland Park dog tag number.
• Nonresident: $140 first dog ($70 each additional dog). Must
provide current rabies vaccination tag number. A parking
sticker will be provided.
Registration Process
• Registration is required to exercise your dog in the off-leash
dog areas. You will receive a membership card within ten
business days of registration. You must carry this membership
card with you when visiting the off-leash dog park areas.
• To register, visit pdhp.org, from the menu bar select
Registration, Register Now!, then Buy Memberships and
complete the registration process. In person registration
may be done at Heller Nature Center (see page 44 for Heller
contact information).
• Dog permits are valid from Jan 1- Dec 31.
Rules and Regulations for Dog Exercise Areas
• Presentation of your permit card is required for use of the
parks and is not transferable.
• Dogs must be on a leash and under control to and from the
off-leash exercise area.
• Owners must clean up after their dogs and are solely
responsib le for their dogs.
• Dogs not under control or uncooperative will have their
membership revoked.
• Children must be at least 10 years of age to enter the off-leash
area and must be closely supervised.
• Maximum of two dogs per person on any single visit.
• Dogs must be fully immunized and display City of Highland
Park and rabies tags.
• Violation of rules or ordinances will result in loss of privileges
with no refund and fines up to $500.
• Dogs are allowed off-leash only in the designated fenced
enclosures.
