Brunch and Learn Nature Workshop Series

Center followed by a fun and informative hands-on workshop,
discussion or walk.

Explore our lakefront beach, dune, bluff and ravine habitats
while playing games and discovering all that Lake Michigan
has to offer us. End the afternoon with a cookout–you bring
dinner, we’ll provide the grill, then pitch a tent and fall asleep
to the sounds of the waves lapping the shore. Breakfast will be
provided. Activities are subject to change.

Owl Prowls
[Ages 6-Adult]
Who-hoo’s awake? Me toooooo. Highland Park is home to
several owl species, including Great Horned and Screech owls,
and the ravines make ideal habitats for them. Learn about
owls’ fascinating adaptations indoors, then head outside for a
night hike to listen for owls calling in the wild.

Family Camping at the Beach
Underwater Detectives
[Ages 4-Adult]
Get an up-close look at SCUBA diving equipment, learn
the parts of a boat and discover how to be an underwater
detective! Participants will conduct an indoor survey of a mock
shipwreck to find clues as to what it was and why it sank.
