School gardens are a great place for experiential
learning and nutrition education. Gardening can
enlighten children’s senses, use numbers for measuring,
observe life cycles, develop healthy habits and work together
as a team to grow plants from start to fi nish. Classes go outside
weekly-please dress for the weather. Children may handle or consume

The Art of Cooking | Grades 2-4

Mix, stir, chop, create! This class incorporates cooking
with an art project. Each week is inspired by a new color. A
recipe is made together as a group and eaten before the class
ends. A “Lookbook” is sent home at the end of the session with
recipes and coordinating art work. Children handle and consume
