Whether you ’ ve been a lifeguard before or you are considering venturing into this thrilling field , you are well aware of how important being a lifeguard is . You will acquire training , earn certification ... Saving others ’ lives is as close as one can get to being a superhero . Aside from being every kid ' s superhero , here are 10 reasons why being a lifeguard is the best job in the world .
AS A LIFEGUARD YOU WILL :
1 . SAVE A LIFE According to the International Life Saving Federation , lifeguards make about 1,000,000 rescues per year . While it seems like we ’ re restating the obvious , a lifeguard ’ s number one priority is saving his or her swimmers , which is a HUGE deal !

Other than increasing alertness , being outside also boosts creativity and concentration skills . As a lifeguard , you ’ ll spend an average of 20-30 hours in the sun , so get used to the positive side affects of it !
8 . FLEXIBLE HOURS Many young adults find themselves in binds when trying to balance work , school , and play . One of the great things about lifeguarding is the flexible hours . This job is notorious for catering to high-school and college students , which makes it easier to juggle all of your activities .
9 . BE A PART OF HISTORY As a lifeguard , you will be joining a profession that has existed for more than 200 years . Considering the fact that our country was founded 240 years ago , we ’ d say this is a job you ’ ll be proud to be a part of .
