Learn-to-Swim Learn-to-Swim Registration REGISTRATION STARTS Wed Apr 26 at 7am for residents and nonresidents. Online at pdhp.org (Fastest) In-person (Fast) • At the Recreation Center of Highland Park 7am-7pm, 7 days a week. • At West Ridge Center 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri Drop-off* at Recreation Center (Slow) During normal business hours. Registration will be processed randomly the following business day. For detailed information regarding online registration and other registration options, see page 90. See page 90 for the skill-based program policy. Online registration is now available for all Recreation Center swimming programs (except drop-in). There will no longer be priority registration for returning students or residents. Practice All Learn-to-Swim school students are encouraged to swim outside of class times. Learn-to-Swim Practice/Family Swim hours are free to children and their guardians currently enrolled in our swim school. Fri 5:30am-7pm Sun 10:30am-Noon (The regular fee is required for all other swim times.) Pre-Lesson Swim Assessments Children who have never taken swim lessons are recommended to begin in Paddlers 1 unless otherwise approved by the Aquatics Coordinator or Recreation Supervisor. If your child has taken lessons at another facility or has taken lessons at the park district but not recently it is recommended that a pre-lesson swim assessment be conducted. Pre-lessons assessments are free services provided to ensure students get placed in the proper level. Limit of 2 make-ups per session. 2. Make-Up Request Form must be submitted prior to arriving to class. Forms are available in the pool lobby and on the website. 3. Participants can only make-up at their level. 4. If a participant shows up to a class that is full, the class will not be overloaded to accommodate a make-up. 5. Reserving a make-up slot and then not attending or notifying the aquatics staff will count as the make-up. 6. Call Katie Lazzara at 847.579.4052 regarding same day requests and any other questions. Adult Swimming Programs Adult Learn-to-Swim | Adults For those who have had no swimming experience or may have a fear of water. 6:30-7:30pm $168/183 6:30-7:30pm $168/183 Triathlon Open Water Group Training | Adults A safe and fun way to work on your open water swimming skill set. Participants split into groups based on swimming ability. Endurance, sighting, deep water starts, and speed work will all be incorporated into this session. Each weekly training session ends with a short group run, so bring your running gear. Prerequisite: must be able to swim 400 yards continuously. Participants must provide their own wetsuit, goggles, brightly colored swim cap, and Safe Swimmer Float.
