Renewal & ‘Next Level Thinking’ Environment
In the next three years, Shrewsbury will develop and deliver ‘Next Level’
spaces for learning.
New teaching facilities will be designed and built to offer the spaces for
thinking, collaboration and the delivery of projects across the curriculum.
Through a THB700m investment, Shrewsbury will use space more efficiently
with establishment of underground parking, develop high quality spaces for
dining, increase the provision and effectiveness of sport facilities as well as
delivering innovative science and technology learning zones.
There will be a particular focus around the notion of innovation and departments
will work together in the Senior School to find interdisciplinary opportunities,
mirroring the very best of the higher education and employment sectors.
An innovation curriculum for the Senior School will build upon a creative
curriculum embedded in our Junior School. Students will be offered the
time, space and resources to consider real world challenges and develop real
responses.
To enable the crucial transition between the formal and broad curriculum at
iGCSE, and the specialised choices made for higher study; we will be developing
our ‘Space to Think’ concept. By providing opportunities for our oldest
students in an environment that fosters critical thought and entrepreneurship.
A new 6th Form Centre will ensure we build upon our enviable track record
of preparation for high ranking global universities.
Existing spaces will also be reimagined to support our learning community.
The Shrewsbury Library will be a focal point of this redevelopment as we
reconsider our responsibilities to provide spaces that enable all learners
to access information, create ideas and author content in flexible and fluid
environments. Art and Design spaces will be reconsidered and developed
with the learners at the forefront of the design, as well as occupying a prime
Riverside location.
Through intelligent curriculum design aligned with flexible and forward looking
architecture, Shrewsbury will be building on fifteen years of excellence in the
academic sphere. Shrewsbury intends to deliver provision that enables young
people access to the very best opportunities worldwide.
In supporting this, Shrewsbury will also continue the long term growth and
refinement of languages: the key to changing lives and unlocking cultures all
over the globe. More regular and high quality Thai language provision will
develop through the Junior School, in addition to continued commitment to
Mandarin and European languages.
Shrewsbury is providing all students with a foundation for their future.
