INSTAGRAM What Is Instagram? • Instagram is a visual social media platform that offers a free, simple way to tell your brand’s story through photos and videos. You can publish your own unique content or share what other users are posting. • Instagram is primarily used as a mobile app. A desktop version is available, but has limited functionality as it does not allow for photo uploads at this time. It does allow engaging with other accounts through liking, following and commenting on their posts. Setting Up Your Account 1. Download the Instagram app in the App store. 2. Select “Sign Up With Phone or Email.” 3. Enter your professional email address. 4. Enter a name. — Tip: Avoid using your personal name, as you don’t want a brand account tied to one person. 5. Create a username that makes sense for you. — Name can be up to 14 characters 6. Create a password for the account. 7. Bring your profile to life by completing the bio section. — Instagram gives you 150 characters to explain who you are, what you offer, and why people should follow you. — Tip: Update your bio periodically with relevant events or initiatives.
