General Information One-Day Program Refund and Transfer Policy September - November What is better than a walk in the woods? Perhaps having a book to read along the way! Enjoy a book and a calm Fall stroll along a Heller trail. The Park District of Highland Park and the Highland Park Library have teamed up to bring StoryWalk to Heller Nature Center. Featured book: Yellow Time by: Lauren Stringer A refund or transfer for one-day programs must be requested at least four days in advance. No refunds or transfers are issued after this time. See page 93 for programs refund policy. As the trees turn from green to yellow the feeling of fall begins to surround us all. Join us in the moments that happen once a year during this exceptional change. Weather Policy All programs are conducted rain or shine. In the event of extreme or dangerous weather, the program will be cancelled and participants will be refunded in full. Please dress for the weather. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Natural Areas Volunteer Program Come join the Natural Areas Volunteer Crew for a morning of RESTORATION. Lake Cook Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society lakecookaudubon.org Group and Custom Programs Heller staff will design an environmental education or outdoor recreation program to meet your needs or you may choose from an established program such as geocaching, hike and campfire or team building. Unstructured nature play has been proven to build motor skills, creativity, attention span, social skills and so much more in kids (and adults!) of all ages.
