Dance DANCE The Dance curriculum at West Ridge Center provides students of all ages with a high-quality and enjoyable dance education. The program is centered on a fun and nurturing environment that allows students to grow and advance at their own pace. Introductory classes focus on movement and coordination. Class levels progress to a more disciplined routine of stretching and proper techniques while promoting self-confidence. Our professional dance instructors have trained with world renowned dancers such as: Merce Cunningham, Randy Duncan, Jose Limon, and more! For more information on dance programs, call 847.831.3810 Attire Ballet and Contemporary Classes: Girls wear pastel pink leotards (without skirt or tutu), pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Boys wear black pants, white or black shirt and black ballet shoes. Tap: Girls wear pastel pink leotards (without skirt or tutu), pink tights and black tap shoes. Boys wear black pants, white or black shirt and black tap shoes. Hip-Hop, Poms, Performance, and Adult Dance: Comfortable clothes (no jeans) and clean-soled shoes. No street shoes. Jazz and Jazz II: Black pants (no bare knees), black leotard and black jazz shoes. No Class Early Childhood Enrichment Combo - Extend your day by enrolling in a Childhood Enrichment Program and a Performing Arts Program! Children are escorted between the two programs by Park District Staff. • Combo option is available for selected classes only, please look for the icon above. • Children attending morning Childhood Enrichment Programs should register for lunch option and a 12:55pm combo Performing Arts Program. • Children attending the afternoon Childhood Enrichment Programs should register for the 11:45am combo Performing Arts Program. • Attire: Participants should follow the required class attire. Changing between classes should be limited to adding/ removing one layer of clothing (dance attire should be worn under regular clothes).
