Brunch and Learn Nature Workshop Series

Enjoy a delicious catered brunch followed by a fun and
informative hands-on workshop, discussion or walk.
These programs are sponsored by Comfort Keepers in Wheeling
and are presented in cooperation with the Highland Park and Lake
Forest/Lake Bluff Senior Centers.

Bird Banding Field Trip | Adults
Travel with Heller Nature Center and the Lake/Cook Chapter of
the Illinois Audubon Society to the Sand Bluff Bird Observatory
near Rockford to experience the scientific monitoring process
of bird banding. Learn the history and techniques of banding
as well as the incredible amount of information we now know
about birds from this process.

Beekeeping | Ages 6-Adult
Put on a bee suit and get a safe, fascinating look inside Heller’s
beehives and taste our own special honey! Children must be
accompanied by a paid registered adult. All participants must
wear closed shoes and long socks to visit the hives. Min/Max: 6/20
