RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS This graceful sport combines dance and acrobatic elements. Participants use balls, ribbons, hoops, clubs and ropes while performing choreographed movements to music. Students develop strength, flexibility, hand-eye coordination and endur- ance while learning new skills and having fun. Classes are instructed by Natalia Klimouk and Dani Takova along with assis- tant coaches with international or local competitive experience. She currently serves as the Rhythmic Elite International Chair. NORTH SHORE RHYTHMICS Since 2006, NSR has been training both elite level athletes as well as recreational gymnasts here at the Glenview Park District and has become a national training desti- nation for rhythmic gymnasts. The coaching staff have trained USA Senior National Champion Lisa Wang, 3-time USA Junior National Champion Marlee Shape, the USA Group National Team and many other past National Team and World Championship team members. NSR directors aspire to have each and every gymnast achieve her full potential as an athlete, whether she becomes a national champion, a member of group team, or competing at any level throughout her career. Being involved in this sport fosters confidence, athleticism and perseverance. NSR is a member of USA Gymnastics.
