Wing WEDNESDAY PLAY DROP-IN Every Wednesday at noon a room will be set up where members can drop in to form card games or Mah Jongg. MUSIC APPRECIATION Meets the fourth Monday of the month at 1 pm. CAMERA CLUB Calling all photographers – both film and digital! Join others who share your enthusiasm for this fun hobby, on the first Monday of each month at 1 pm. ART APPRECIATION Meets the third Monday of the month at 1 pm. MEMBERSHIP IN THE EAST WING GLENVIEW SENIOR CENTER IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: FITNESS CLASSES The East Wing offers a variety of fitness classes including, strength, balance, sit & fit and more. Only members may register for these programs. INVESTMENT CLUB Interested in learning more about stocks? Stocks are researched, purchased and sold. Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am. Max group size: 25 Bingo, Fellowship Luncheons, Men’s Pinochle, Men’s Book Club, Lunch Bunch, Woodcarving, Chess Club and Women’s Book Club. SPEAKER/DISCUSSION PROGRAMS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC These programs, held at Park Center, are open to all. There is no fee. For specific dates and topics, call 847-724-4793. EAST WING SPEAKER SERIES Held the second Wednesday of each month, 9:30-11:30 am in the Lakeview Room. Outstanding speakers, stimulating topics and exciting programs. HEALTH & EDUCATION SERIES A drop-in discussion group for men. Meets every Friday from 10:30 am-12 pm. Social service programs are presented on the second Wednes- day of the month from 1-2 pm. Sponsored by the The East Wing and NorthShore University HealthSystem. See page 29 for more details. TALKING POINTS COFFEE WITH DIANE MEN’S ROUNDTABLE A drop-in, coed discussion group. Meets every Monday from 11 am-12:30 pm. GLENVIEW SENIOR CHORUS (THE STARLITE SINGERS) The Glenview Senior Chorus, led by John Kula, sings two- and three-part harmonies and performs for church groups, senior centers, etc. Practice is held on Thursday mornings from 10 am-12 pm. WEEKLY PLAY Bridge, Canasta, New Canasta, Poker, Cribbage, Duplicate Bridge, Mah Jongg, Pinochle, Pool, Scrabble, Rummikub and Drop-In Cards scheduled weekly. Weekly play is an opportu- nity for players of intermediate and advanced skill levels to play the game of their choice on a regular basis. (These are not instructional programs.) CRAFT ROOM If you knit, crochet, can stuff a teddy bear or sew on a button, join the senior crafters on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9 am-12 pm, to create seasonal and holiday items sold at sales throughout the year and to do charity work for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, the Linus Project and various hospitals. 38 OTHER MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES ▪ The East Wing Join Diane Behnke, social worker from the North Shore Senior Center, on a Thursday of each month to learn about a new topic. Diane will bring in a speaker to discuss interesting and current topics.
