CANON BRINGS THE CINE-SERVO LINE TO #IBC2015 by Matt Harchick
The Canon 4K Cine-Servo line of lenses is quite impressive and they’re coming to IBC2015! Here’s a quick rundown of what Canon has to offer in the CINE-SERVO lens line!
The CINE-SERVO 50-1000mm T5.0-8.9 PL or EF provides 4K performance for the Super35mm large format sensor50-1000mm cameras and can accommodate either broadcast or cinema-style production due to its removable Digital Drive unit! This lens is specifically designed for sports, nature documentaries, and other types of long-zoom field production! Boosting the world’s longest focal length of 75-1500mm with its built in 1.5x extender and a high magnification of 20x! It certainly fits the bill for compatibility with lens support rods, matte boxes, and any other cinema accessories you can imagine.
The CINE-SERVO 17-120mm T2.95-3.9PL or EF is a cinematographers and broadcast operators dream weighting in at only 6.4lbs! This lens offers outstanding performance in any professional shooting environment! The 17-120mm lens features a high 7x zoom, focal length range of 17mm to 120mm, and a 180 degree smooth rotating focus ring. The zoom lens as full external servo control for the broadcaster which is perfect for shooting in that area of expertise! The drive can easily removed for cinema-style shoots and can be easily attached without any manual re-alignment (so those film guys and gals aren’t left out).
Both the Canon CINE-SERVO 50-1000mm T5.0-8.9 and the CINE-SERVO 17-120mm T2.95-3.9 can be converted to either a PL or EF at an authorized Canon service facility! Make sure to stop by IBC2015 for a special peek at these wonderful lenses.
